The TYN610 is a 600V,10A silicon-controlled rectifier with a standard TO-220A package ,designed for medium-power switching applications. It features reliable triggering, robust surge current capabilities, and is widely used in AC switching, light dimmers, motor control, heating regulation systems, and other industrial or consumer power electronics.

Working Principle

Inside the TYN610 is a four-layer semiconductor structure (PNPN) with three pins:

  • A (Anode)
  • K (Cathode)
  • G (Gate)

It is essentially a controlled switch that will only conduct when certain conditions are met.

TYN610 adopts a unidirectional conduction structure. Its working principle is based on the on-off control of the PNPN structure. The device is turned on by an external gate trigger current and is used to control high current loads.
