Description

The TYN616 is a 600V,16A silicon-controlled rectifier with a standard TO-220A package ,designed for medium-power switching applications. It features reliable triggering, robust surge current capabilities, and is widely used in AC switching, light dimmers, motor control, heating regulation systems, and other industrial or consumer power electronics.

Main Technical Parameters

  • Package type: TO-220A
  • Off-state repetitive peak voltage/Reverse repetitive peak voltage (VDRM/VRRM): 600V
  • Maximum on-state current (IT(RMS)): 16A
  • Trigger current (IGT): ≤15mA
  • Dv/dt strong anti-interference ability: ≥200V/μs

Working Principle

Inside the TYN616 is a four-layer semiconductor structure (PNPN) with three pins:

  • A (Anode)
  • K (Cathode)
  • G (Gate)

It is essentially a controlled switch that will only conduct when certain conditions are met.

TYN616 adopts a unidirectional conduction structure. Its working principle is based on the on-off control of the PNPN structure. The device is turned on by an external gate trigger current and is used to control high current loads.
