Description

The SCA20C60 SCR is highly capable of handling the shock loads caused by large currents and offers a high dV/dt rating, making it highly resistant to electromagnetic interference. It is particularly suitable for applications such as solid-state relays, motorcycles, power chargers, and power tools. It provides a rated insulation voltage of 2000 VRMS between all three terminals and an external heatsink. The TO-220A package complies with RoHS standards.

Working Principle

SCR is a four-layer, three-terminal semiconductor device with three terminals: anode (A), cathode (K) and gate (G). When a positive voltage is applied to the anode relative to the cathode and a positive trigger current is applied to the gate, the SCR turns on. Once turned on, even if the gate trigger signal disappears, the SCR will remain in the on state until the main current drops below the holding current.
