Working Principle

SMAJ58A is in a high impedance state and is almost non-conductive under normal voltage. When the external transient voltage exceeds its breakdown voltage, it will immediately conduct and bypass the surge current to the ground, thereby protecting the subsequent circuit. It should be noted that it is unidirectional and is only applicable to DC circuits or signal lines with clear polarity.
