SMAJ24A is a high-performance unidirectional transient voltage suppression diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from transient voltages such as ESD, lightning strikes, inductive load switching, etc. The device uses a compact SMA package, has a fast response time (nanosecond level) and high surge absorption capability, which can effectively clamp overvoltages and ensure safe and stable circuit operation.

Working Principle
SMAJ24A is in a high impedance state and is almost non-conductive under normal voltage. When the external transient voltage exceeds its breakdown voltage, it will immediately conduct and bypass the surge current to the ground, thereby protecting the subsequent circuit. It should be noted that it is unidirectional and is only applicable to DC circuits or signal lines with clear polarity.
