Working Principle
- Normal state
When the circuit voltage is lower than the reverse cutoff voltage, the device is in high impedance state (cutoff state), which has almost no effect on the circuit. - Transient voltage trigger
When the voltage exceeds the breakdown voltage, the device quickly enters the low impedance state (avalanche breakdown), discharges the excess energy to the ground through itself, and clamps the voltage below the clamping voltage.
