SMAJ5.0A is a uni-directional transient voltage suppression diode designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from transient voltage surges such as ESD, lightning strikes or inductive load switching.The device adopts an industrial standard SMA package with high reliability and compact size, suitable for high-density PCB layout.

Working Principle
SMAJ5.0A is in a high impedance state and is almost non-conductive under normal voltage. When the external transient voltage exceeds its breakdown voltage, it will immediately conduct and bypass the surge current to the ground, thereby protecting the subsequent circuit. It should be noted that it is unidirectional and is only applicable to DC circuits or signal lines with clear polarity.
