Working Principle
SCR is a four-layer, three-terminal semiconductor device with three terminals: anode (A), cathode (K) and gate (G). When a positive voltage is applied to the anode relative to the cathode and a positive trigger current is applied to the gate, the SCR turns on. Once turned on, even if the gate trigger signal disappears, the SCR will remain in the on state until the main current drops below the holding current.
