Summary
Although the DC 5V power port appears to be just a "power supply port," in actual products, when users plug and unplug adapters, power cords, or connectors, their fingers or the metal parts of the plugs will directly contact the metal pins of the DC socket. Furthermore, because the power port is directly connected to the system power rail, damage from ESD often has a greater impact than that on the data port.
