Summary
G.fast, as a DSL technology providing ultra-gigabit (up to 2 Gbps+) speeds over short distances (typically < 300m), faces greater surge and electrostatic discharge (ESD) risks than traditional ADSL/VDSL equipment during deployment and daily operation. Its equipment (especially VDSL2/G.fast hybrid gateways, central office/remote office equipment with PSE, and customer-side CPE) will experience these risks.
