Overview
The diode plays a variety of important roles in POS (Point of Sale) terminals, mainly in the following aspects:
- Anti-reverse connection protection: The diode can be used to prevent damage to the internal circuit of the POS machine when the power supply is reversed.
- Overvoltage protection: When the voltage exceeds the safe range, the Zener diode turns on, clamping the excessive voltage within a specific range to protect other sensitive components.
2.Signal Rectification
AC-DC: There may be some modules in the POS machine that need to convert AC power into DC power (such as printing modules or battery charging circuits)
3.Data Communication
Signal isolation: In some POS serial communication (such as RS-232 or USB) circuits, diodes can be used to isolate signals or prevent reverse flow of signals to ensure normal communication.
4.Charging Circuit
Preventing backflow: In the battery charging circuit of POS, the diode prevents the battery from discharging reversely to the power source, thereby improving the reliability of the charging circuit.
5.Switching Function
Fast switching: Using Schottky diodes or fast recovery diodes, fast switching functions can be achieved in some high-frequency circuits, such as high-frequency switching power supplies or data transmission modules.
